Martha Elisa Bojórquez comes from Sinaloa, a north western state of Mexico.  Since her childhood she has been in love with visual arts and has been dedicated to them  for almost one and a half decades noticeably influenced by the incomparable classical and intrinsic elements of Mexican Art. She now focuses her work on contemporary expressionist painting in oil, acrylic and mixed techniques.  Her art contains both the figurative and the abstract element and shows an exceptional diversity in combining forms, colors and textures.

The artist has been presenting her paintings in numerous personal and group exhibits.  She began in Mexico and  since 2000 expanding her presence  outside her native country to include Canada, Dominican Republic, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the United States, and Venezuela, where there continues to be a growing interest in her work among fine art galleries, museums and art collectors.

Martha Elisa now resides in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and continues to create extraordinary work in her new studio nestled in a serene ambience with tight bindings to her native country and thus to the artistic roots which  professionally formed her.
"I have been in love with art since my childhood, it is my foremost motivation. It is a medium where I try to express my feelings, a moment in which to demonstrate just who I am because I believe the artist projects himself in his work, paints, moulds in a format what he is, what he feels inside. Emotions are translated into painting. Letting them flow, releasing them means to be taken to a point of creativity. A splash of color, a line, the textures, the material as such, will tell something. It is like soliloquizing or having a dialogue with what one is seeing and creating on the format or support.

For many years I dedicated my work to figurative fantasia expressionism but always found that the strict painted line was constraining my work. Now that my artwork is more abstract I feel more satisfied and free. Step by step I approached the style I have finally found that which I think to be ideal for the quality and transcendence of my creations. I believe that this vocation is very important. The time one dedicates to researching, studying and experimenting new techniques will result in a higher standard of quality. Sometimes I am obsessive in studying and learning from artists I like most.
Whenever I am facing a blank canvas it is a challenging new adventure.  I do not know yet what I will be painting. It is the moment when a thousand queries will come to my mind. It is frightening yet pleasurable. Soon after, I am immersed into canvas and painting ...  the dialogue is on, ideas are flowing, emotion is filling my soul.  I am being taken to a new dimension. It’s all me: the painting, the material, the splash of color, the rhythm.

What results is subject to an appreciation which follows the progress of the creative phase. I will leave that which pleases me and what I am not satisfied with will be transformed into a different splash of color, a new effect. Finally, when I feel that the artwork is ready there is a different emotion, very strong but short in duration.

The anxiety to start a new adventure, a new challenge a new piece of art is imperative ...
